In 1937 tiny Sally Halterman didn’t let her stature hold her back. Despite weighing in at only one-third the weight of her Harley Davidson, Sally was the first woman to be granted a license to operate a motorcycle in the District of Columbia. She was 27 years old, weighed 88 pounds, and was just 4’11 tall. Upon receiving her permit, Sally was initiated into the D.C.
